The Great American Cleanup was smashing success. The city brought about 12 people and with our volunteers got the job done. The city workers got unwanted items from the creek. They cut and then sprayed the honeysuckle and other invasives including poison ivy. We went all the way to the end of the blacktop in the park. We got some honeysuckle from around the benches and from around he trees when you first enter the park. Looking down the creek now reminds me of Gatlinburg or the blue ridge mountain streams. The difference is amazing. We all agreed we have to get some grants to go to phase 2 in the fall.
